The National Association of Wheat Weavers, Inc (NAWW) was established in 1987 as a non-profit organization.

Objectives
:
Preserve and perpetuate the history and traditions associated with the folk art of corn dollies, wheat plaiting (also known as wheat weaving) and other forms of straw art.

Develop, promote and teach techniques of all forms of straw art.

Our thriving membership includes all skill levels from beginners, to craftspeople, to advanced straw artists from across the United States and Australia, Canada, Switzerland, the Netherlands and the United Kingdom.

The Eastern District welcomes you to Blooming on the Prairie! Hybrid Zoom and in-person classroom teaching will be offered again in 2024 to allow you to attend virtually or in-person.The Chateau is located in a bustling area with excellent shopping and restaurant options, many within walking distance. There are museums, a zoo, a botanical garden, historical homes, outdoor spaces and more to make your visit memorable.

The Unconventional Convention Workbook is available for order.

Although the unprecedented events of 2020 and 2021 caused the cancellation of the in-person convention, we met on Zoom with some wonderful teachers and projects. Now we have compiled The Unconventional Convention Workbook, which includes all the wonderful projects planned for the 2020 Convention in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania PLUS all the marvelous projects taught on Zoom in 2021. We thank all of the instructors for allowing us to include their projects in this Workbook. Classes via Zoom!

With the success of the online classes in 2021, the NAWW Board of Directors approved holding classes via Zoom again in 2023-2024. Watch your inbox for class information.
